GEM: A Generic Chosen-Ciphertext Secure Encryption Method
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper proposes an efficient and provably secure transform to encrypt a message with any asymmetric one-way cryptosystem. The resulting scheme achieves adaptive chosen-ciphertext security in the random oracle model. Compared to previous known generic constructions (Bellare, Rogaway, Fujisaki, Okamoto, and Pointcheval), our embedding reduces the encryption size and/or speeds up the decryption process. It applies to numerous cryptosystems, including (to name a few) ElGamal, RSA, OkamotoUchiyama and Paillier systems.

Optimal Chosen-Ciphertext Secure Encryption of Arbitrary-Length Messages
This paper considers arbitrary-length chosen-ciphertext secure asymmetric encryption, thus addressing what is actually needed for a practical usage of strong public-key cryptography in the real world. We put forward two generic constructions, gem-1 and gem-2, which apply to explicit fixed-length weakly secure primitives and provide a strongly secure (IND-CCA2) public-key encryption scheme for m...
متن کاملThe Security with the Randomness Revealed for Public - Key Encryption
We consider the situation for public-key encryption that the adversary knows the randomness which was used to compute the ciphertext. In some practical scenarios, there is a possibility that the randomness is revealed. For example, the randomness used to make a ciphertext may be stored in insecure memory, or the pseudorandom generator may be corrupted. We first formalize the security notion on ...
متن کاملGeneric Constructions for Chosen-Ciphertext Secure Attribute Based Encryption
In this paper we propose generic conversions for transforming a chosen-plaintext (CPA) secure attribute-based encryption (ABE) to a chosen-ciphertext (CCA) secure ABE. The only known generic conversion, to the best of our knowledge, was presented by Goyal et al. in ACM-CCS 2006, which itself subsumes the well-known IBE-to-PKE conversion by Canetti, Halevi, and Katz proposed in Eurocrypt 2004. T...
متن کاملChosen-Ciphertext Security of Multiple Encryption
Encryption of data using multiple, independent encryption schemes (“multiple encryption”) has been suggested in a variety of contexts, and can be used, for example, to protect against partial key exposure or cryptanalysis, or to enforce threshold access to data. Most prior work on this subject has focused on the security of multiple encryption against chosen-plaintext attacks, and has shown con...
متن کاملConstructing CCA-secure predicate encapsulation schemes from CPA-secure schemes and universal one-way hash functions
We present a new transformation of chosen-plaintext secure predicate encryption schemes with public index into chosen-ciphertext secure schemes. Our construction requires only a universal one-way hash function and is selectively secure in the standard model. The transformation is not generic but can be applied to various existing schemes constructed from bilinear groups. Using common structural...
